Key tasks

To take an active, hands-on role in the provision of a maintenance service for the Centre. This largely consists of routine maintenance, emergency repairs and project work particularly   involving painting & joinery.

  The Maintenance Team at Barcaple consists of the Maintenance Team Leader and assistants. The work of the department is essential to the ministry of the Centre, as the appearance of the grounds and the standard of our facilities are in themselves a powerful Christian witness. The role is varied and often challenging.  

Qualifications & experience

First and foremost, we are looking for people who want to serve God in this kind of outreach. We require people who have lots of stamina, are self-sufficient, easy to get on with, flexible in their approach and work well in a team.

  Previous experience is advantageous, but not essential.

Would help to be:

- Skilled in painting or joinery

- Skilled or semi-skilled in electrical work & plumbing

  - It is a Genuine Occupational Requirement, in terms of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003, that this post is filled by a practising Christian.

  In line with good practice, a criminal record check will be made with Disclosure Scotland.
