Professional Instructor Training Course
This one year residential course is a genuine training opportunity for you to work towards and take part in a wide range of instructional qualifications. Our qualified instructional team will provide quality input and guidance throughout the year. There is plenty of scope for consolidation of practical skills and teaching techniques including a six week skiing block in St Luc, Switzerland.
Our aim is to provide the best Professional Instructor Training programme for Christians seeking employment in outdoor education. The course will provide a comprehensive package of skills, experiences and qualifications to prepare you for the demands of working in outdoor pursuits. An integral part of the year is the opportunity for personal Christian growth and an insight into the value of using outdoor activities in Christian ministry. To help consolidate skills learnt we will arrange twelve weeks of work experience at one or more of the other Abernethy Centres to develop teaching competency and to gain an understanding of the demands of Christian Outdoor work.
