Gap Year Team Opportunities
If we could, we would make taking a year out between school and further education compulsory! Taking time out for God after school gives you the opportunity to gain valuable skills and learn about living with others before you head to uni, college or further employment. The practical skills you will learn are also very useful and will look great on your CV.

Our gap year team people are at the front line of serving our guests, so are given full training, and are expected to work hard and keep smiling! There is no doubt this is a demading & enjoyable year.
The quality or our hospitality and upkeep of our facilities is an essential part of the Christian message we are presenting, so we rely on our year teams a great deal as they serve in the following areas:
Food Services
Working under the supervision of our cooks to prepare and serve between 30-300 tasty home cooked meals per day to our guests and staff, you will have a full involvement in the working of the kitchen. Deep cleaning, stock control and washing up through to preparing and serving meals are all tasks undertaken by our kitchen teams. Full training is given and you will be trained and assessed in food hygiene.
Housekeeping
You will work as part of a team to carry out routine cleaning tasks such as dusting and vacuuming, and also you will prepare the guest’s sleeping accommodation before they arrive. Laundry work, cleaning washrooms and keeping the Centre clean and tidy are also all in a day’s work for the House Team.
Maintenance
All of our Centres are converted country houses located within estates which require a large amount of upkeep. Daily routine tasks combined with emergency repairs, problem solving, vehicle maintenance and grounds work are all on the agenda for our busy maintenance teams.
