Abernethy Barcaple is located in a 20 acre country estate near the Artist's Town of Kirkcudbright in Dumfries & Galloway. The lovely Victorian house offers comfortable accommodation and great facilities, and the Centre is ideally located to offer a great range of exciting activities. Location
Abernethy Barcaple is Abernethy’s southernmost property, conveniently located in the rolling countryside close to Kirkcudbright and not far from Dumfries. We are about 2 hours drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow.
If you are coming from Ireland, we are located directly on the National Express line from Belfast to London, only 50 minutes away from the new high-speed ferry between Cairnryan (formerly Stranraer) and Larne.
The surrounding area has a lot to offer the outdoor enthusiast – Mountain biking is especially popular at the Seven Stanes mountain bike trails across the area. Loch Ken where watersports take place is just along the road and of course there are loads of exciting on-site activities to choose from as well!

Accommodation & Facilities
The Centre offers comfortable bunk-bedded accommodation for 54 people in a range of different room sizes – we also have some en-suite rooms available. Abernethy Barcaple has great facilities – spacious grounds to enjoy and explore, cosy lounges to relax in, and of course, all the essentials such as a drying room, barbeque site and a small shop.
