Over the year we have many “uniformed” groups such as Boys' & Girls' Brigades, Brownies and Guides, Cubs & Scouts visiting our Centres. We can offer a full activity programme or you may want to run some parts of the weekend yourselves to tie in with badges or your own Company, Section or Pack aims.
Abernethy can help you, as the group leader, to make these happen during an adventurous weekend away and we hope that all of our groups, girls and boys, go away from Abernethy having developed as individuals, as a team and as a group of friends.
We can help you to work on the Body, Mind and Spirit programme zones and the boys will certainly fill the Section aims of having fun, making friends, enjoying lots of activities and trying new things—all in one weekend!
"Fab weekend, good Team Building exercises and excellent Christian Teachings" 2nd Kilmarnock BB’s
"Excellent weekend, great instructors. Thank you very much !!" 1st Kirkintilloch BB’s
We work with many schools and the aims of the Curriculum for Excellence that are followed by the Girls' Brigade come as second nature to us.
The Five Essentials of guiding sit perfectly alongside the aims of the Abernethy Teams and we may also be able to help Brownies with their Holidays and Faith badges.
"We would like to say thank you very much for a brilliant fun weekend with the very excited and noisy 5th Forres Brownies, who have all gone home very tired, full of lots of stories and all wanting to come back!!! Thank you"
Along with the Scouting Association, Abernethy believes very strongly that personal development involves promoting the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being of the individual, helping them achieve their full potential.
You may choose to include our ‘Explore’ sessions in your programme. This is an informal time at the end of the day to explore the relevance of the Christian faith. This session is lots of fun and is optional - group leaders are consulted in advance on the form it should take. CLICK HERE for more information
