About the speaker

Gavin Matthews is a writer, blogger and Bible-teacher based in Perth, Scotland, where he lives with his wife and two younger children.  (His oldest son is at university in Dundee).  He enjoys speaking in a variety of churches, around Scotland, and has been a member of Perth Baptist Church since 1998 and a Christian since he was 17.  In his spare time he enjoys hill walking, cycling, photography and has a fair claim to be the world’s worst drummer.  He sometimes works for Solas in Dundee, and has degrees from Dundee University, St Andrews University and the ICC in Glasgow.  Gavin says, “I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone at Abernethy at New Year and opening the Bible with you all.  I pray that God will bless us from His word as we study it together.  I’ve been to Abernethy as a guest before but never as a speaker; see you at New Year!”
