Take your riding to the next level and ride steeper, faster and bigger than ever before! These great camps for young biking enthusiasts were launched in 2012 and have been incredibly popular ever since.
To achieve these aims, most of the camps are limited to those who are already confident riding steep single track trails with rocks, roots and small drops in most conditions as well as taking some air. New for 2019 we are introducting an 11-15 MTB Adventure for intermediate riders to build on the their skillset. We're also running a Gravity Juniors camp for younger riders to use as a stepping stone to progress their riding, and a girls only Gravity Camp for female riders to learn from a female coach.
You will be asked, when booking, where you are currently riding and where you have ridden recently. You may well be currently taking part in a regional or national race series.
If you would like to use one of these camps as your Gold DofE Residential, please let the office team know when booking.
During instructed sessions, expert coaches (to be announced) will be tutoring and Abernethy staff will be accompanying the sessions.
In non-instructed time, Abernethy staff will be supervising you and organising activities. From making sure you make a packed lunch and respect the centre and its facilities to joining in with the coaching sessions, our team will generally be looking out for you during your time away from home.
Sick Skills MTB Coaching
Ex-World Cup racer, Scottish National Champion and all-round nice guy Ben has been coaching our Gravity Camps for a number of years and we're looking forward to having him back for our Gravity Extra camps in 2019.
Jen has been guiding in the mountains for over 8 years. She is a committee member for the Aviemore all-girls cycling club ‘Petal Power’ and leads rides and coaching sessions all over Scotland. We're excited for her to come and join our Gravity Camps!
Gravity Camper turned coach, we're excited to invite Donald back across the Corran Ferry to Ardgour for Gravity Launch! Seasoned racer, Donald knows exactly what benefits great coaching can have.

Given the focus of these camps, a downhill bike is very strongly recommended if you have one. However, the first few days won't be uplift days, so a trail bike will be needed to pedal up to the top of the runs.
