About the Camp

Rooted + Wild is a four day adventure designed to instil confidence and awake passion for committed young Christians who desire to grow in their relationship with God.

If you’re between 17-21, enjoy the outdoors, want to try something new, and grow your personal relationship with God, then join our Rooted + Wild journey.

This adventure is not bound to one of our centres: in fact, ¾ of the time spent will be a continuous journey somewhere in the Highlands.  The location remains secret right up to the start of the adventure and is specially selected each year, and is the starting point for the design of the week and activity programme.

The spiritual programme is deeply interwoven with the activities and delivered by a carefully selected team that will join the attendees on their journey.  Away from distractions, society and social media, the group will explore the depth of their relationship with God.  Rooted + Wild is designed to stretch the adventurers to their physical limits and outside their comfort zone.

Our hope is that each adventurer on Rooted + Wild will walk away feeling fully rooted in Christ and being wild with passion for him.

  • Four day adventure / three nights (two of these nights will be off-site)
  • A two day continuous adventure with activities including hillwalking, canoeing & wild camping.
  • Location is kept secret but will be somewhere in the Cairngorms or Highlands.
  • There will be a combination of high intensity activity, leisurely activities and rest.
  • Daily Bible Study, Quiet Time and Teaching.

Who is it for?

  • Young adults involved in the church age 17-21
  • Those who have a desire to grow in their faith and also in their leadership giftings
  • Those who enjoy the outdoors

How do the participants grow?

  • Personal responsibility for kit & food rationing.  Making choices in what to bring.
  • In pairs, participants will be given leadership of the group. i.e. they will need to lead their group to a designated meeting point with map and compass.
  • They will be given opportunities to make important decisions and learn to deal with consequences (in a safe and supervised environment)
  • They may discover their physical and mental limits, learning about resilience and perseverance.
  • A variety of challenges will teach group management, communication, decision making, reliance upon team members and joint efforts.
  • Through biblical teachings, participants will learn about God and develop their personal relationship with Him through practical applications such as studying the word, sharing their faith, experiences and thoughts, spending time in solitude, praying for one another and more.
