Hill Walking

We are very fortunate that all of our Centres are located in beautiful areas for hill walking.  Using the local hills and mountains around each of the Abernethy Centres, experience the beauty of some of Scotland's finest landscapes.  Whether you are keen to bag a few Munros or simply wish to have a relaxed walk around a loch, our qualified instructors will give you an excellent day out.

Our Summer Mountain Leader qualified instructors will help you to enjoy this activity.

Hill walking as an activity is available at:

Ardeonaig | Ardgour | Barcaple | Nethybridge

Instructor Training & Assessment courses

Join one of our training courses and gain a National Governing Body instructional award.  The price includes full board and accommodation for the duration of the course unless otherwise stated.  Visit our courses pages to see what we have running.

Candidates should have at least 20 logged quality mountain days before the Training and 40 before the Assessment.

Walks Week

Each year, we run a Walks Week at Abernethy Ardgour in August.  This week is a great way of walking with others to see some spectacular scenery and to gain logged days towards your Summer Mountain Leader Training.  It is also possible to use this course as your Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential.
