CCI is a worldwide association of Christian residential providers. Abernethy has been involved in CCI since it started in the UK in 1987. It is a really good association that helps folk running centres to get (even) better at doing so. This week the CCI Council has met – they work with the Executive Director Keith Hagon on how CCI meets the needs of members.
Our own Andrew Marrian is on the CCI Council and makes a valuable contribution as well as being part of the cross fertilisation of sharing ideas. The CCI Board also met, these are the trustees of CCI and are the directors of the company. As with Abernethy, CCI is a charity and a company limited buy guarantee. The Board carries the legal responsibility for making sure CCI does what it says it will do. In the past I have been the chair of the council and on Wednesday I stood down after 16 years on the Board. I am pleased to tell you that Barry Edmondson became chairman of the CCI Board. Together with Andrew he will continue Abernethy’s call to help others be even better at growing people more like Jesus.
Please pray for Andrew and Barry – these are important roles. All of this took place in Northampton this week, so there is always quite a bit of travelling involved.
