In the midst of the unprecedented challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Abernethy Trust Board and leadership continue to reflect on Abernethy’s core purposes of welcoming groups and individuals from a diversity of backgrounds into our centres to have outdoor adventure, and through that to learn of the central hope of our Christian faith.
In view of the Government requirement for no residential gatherings and the uncertainty around when residential bookings might resume, the Abernethy Trust Board have had to make some difficult decisions to ensure the viability of the organisation and its mission.
At its meeting on the 25th April, the Board agreed the following:
We expect that we will also have to make significant changes to our staff team. We are saddened that such changes will impact on the lives of individuals, but in order to continue Abernethy’s mission and ensure its future viability, the decisions are seen as unavoidable.
The encouragement, generosity and commitment of our guests and supporters has long been a feature of the Trust, and at this time we would ask that you continue to stand with us in support and share our story. Many lives have been impacted through the Abernethy Trust and we believe that many more will be in the future.
