If you love spending time in nature, you want to refresh your spiritual life and deepen your relationship with God, this retreat is for you.
You will be invited to join the daily rhythms of prayer at Kilmalieu, which – weather permitting – will happen outside (in the woods, on the beach, by the fire pit etc). Each day you will be offered opportunities to explore the stunning hills, glorious coastline and/or ancient woodlands that surround Kilmalieu. The estate is home to an incredible variety of birds, animals and plant life. You will be offered ways of engaging with the creation that help you encounter the Creator and see his fingerprints all over it.
The Kilmalieu team will offer retreat activities to guide and inspire prayer and reflection. For those who wish, there will be opportunities to help with environmental tasks. These could involve assisting in monitoring different aspects of nature or helping remove invasive plants. The emphasis with all these things is ‘optional’! So, your retreat can be as restful or active, as gentle or arduous as you wish. There will be opportunities for fellowship and sharing, but these too are … optional!
Kilmalieu occupies a stunning position on the shore of Loch Linnhe. It is a renovated eighteenth-century hunting lodge with a mixture of comfortable single, twin and family bedrooms. Food is home-made and consistently praised for its quality. Guests have access to a small library, chapel, art room, games room, lounge, sports hall and gym.
