Adventures in Prayer

May 14, 2027 - May 18, 2027

Description

Many people are rediscovering the riches of ancient Christian practices – and finding that they can reinvigorate your spiritual life and strengthen your bond with God. The popularity of the Lectio 365 app and writers such as Pete Grieg and John Mark Comer encourage us to find nourishment and inspiration for everyday life in both contemporary practices and ancient wisdom.

This retreat offers a welcoming opportunity for you to explore a variety of ways to pray, reflect on scripture and encounter God in and through nature. Together we’ll share the gentle rhythms of morning and evening prayers, while each day you can choose from suggested activities designed to help you experiment with different approaches to prayer, reflection, and contemplation.

Whether you’re completely new to time away from home focusing on your faith, or have attended many retreats before, you’ll find space to pause, listen, and deepen your relationship with God. Come as you are, explore at your own pace, and discover practices that can sustain and enrich your spiritual journey long after your time here ends.

Situated on the shores of Loch Linnhe, Kilmalieu enjoys a stunning Highland setting. This beautifully renovated eighteenth-century hunting lodge offers comfortable single, twin and family rooms, alongside homemade food that is consistently praised by guests.

During your stay, you will have access to the library, art room, lounge, chapel, games room, labyrinth and gym, as well as the extraordinary landscape that surrounds us.
