This is an opportunity for those serving in mission across Scotland to come and spend extended time together and be refreshed in that calling. If you are involved in encouraging, facilitating, training, coaching or enabling mission, this is an opportunity for you to gather with like-minded people – for mutual encouragement and support.
Times of facilitated sharing and learning will be mixed with a choice of outdoor or indoor activities. The weekend will be underpinned by a daily rhythm of prayer and promises to be a time of warm fellowship and fresh inspiration. All this set in the beauty and ruggedness of the Western Highlands. A generous welcome awaits.
The retreat will begin from your own doorstep on 5 March, as you will be sent suggestions to help make your journey to Kilmalieu a time of pilgrimage. Likewise, after leaving Kilmalieu on 8 March you will be offered some guidance to ensure that your journey home is an integral part of the experience.
Food is home-made and consistently praised for its quality. Guests have access to a library, art room, chapel, lounge, sports hall and gym and are free to explore the 3000-acre estate, with its glorious mix of mountains, coastline and woodland.
This retreat is led by Peter Wood and Steve Aisthorpe. Peter is Mission Officer for the Church of Scotland’s Lothian & Borders Presbytery. Steve is the Centre Director of Kilmalieu and author of various books, including Rewilding the Church.
