We’re delighted to welcome back to Kilmalieu, Jane Walters – to lead this retreat with a difference! With the emphasis on enjoying the process, rather than fixating on the result, it promises to be a gloriously playful few days – with a fair chance of some mess! We’ll enjoy gentle teaching sessions in the main house, but most of our time will be spent in the centre’s art room. This is stocked with materials for almost every craft you can imagine. It’s the perfect space for experimenting! Coupled with the inspiring setting of Kilmalieu, surrounded by mountains, coastline and ancient woodland, what more could you want?
Creativity is increasingly valued as a wonderful means of self-expression and of improving mental health and, for the Christian, of partnering and connecting with our Creator God. For too many adults, life becomes serious and burden-filled and we lose touch with the playfulness we enjoyed as children. Whether you aspire to be more creative, already enjoy dabbling, or have got ‘stuck’, you’ll find plenty of encouragement through gentle teaching and lots of hands-on activity to learn new skills and – most importantly – to simply enjoy the process.
